Sisters Nebet and Zania, and their little friend Duda are Syrian refugees. They have travelled a long way from Syria via Turkey, Greece and we met them in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Nebet’s little pink pony has followed them everywhere, a flash of childhood colour at the wintry border.
The girls raced around Tabanovce station, while their families prepared to rest overnight.
